Panama City, FL – After several years of dedicated fundraising efforts, the Gulf Coast State College Alumni Association created an endowed scholarship with the GCSC Foundation, Inc. Association leaders presented a check to the Foundation on July 15, fully funding the GCSC Alumni Legacy Scholarship. The Alumni Association initiated the scholarship to help today’s students share the same great Gulf Coast experience that the alumni enjoyed as students years ago.
The Alumni Advisory Council Scholarship Committee takes great pride in reviewing applications and selecting a deserving student as the recipient of the annual scholarship. Student Anna Kaitlyn Gaskin was selected to receive it for the upcoming fall semester.

Funding grew steadily from alumni and friends of the association, and local restaurants also made major contributions to the scholarship over the past several years. They include Schlotzsky’s, Shane’s Rib Shack, Lenny’s Sub Shop, Blue Fig Café, Eren Sullivan (former owner of Tropical Smoothie), Chili’s, TALLY-HO and PoFolks.
Other successful association initiatives include the annual Distinguished & Rising Star Alumni Awards, career workshops and the Legacy Connection Program which recognizes multi-generational families of GCSC alumni.
