Attorney General Bondi announced that a Bay county man is in custody after being charged with abuse of a disabled adult. James Ross Fath, 23, of Youngstown, was arrested on a felony warrant by the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. Unit investigators, acting on a complaint received from the Florida Department of Children and Families, Adult Protective Services reported that Fath allegedly struck a disabled patient. Fath was employed at the Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital.
Fath is charged with abuse of a disabled adult, a third-degree felony. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. The case will be prosecuted by the State Attorney’s Office for the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida.
