The Bay County Sheriff’s Office arrested Paul “Whiskey” Smith III this morning after he allegedly beat his neighbor. Smith was charged with Aggravated Battery and taken for booking to the Bay County Jail. Smith has just been released from the Bay County Jail about 40 hours before and still wore a tracking ankle bracelet.
According to the victim, Smith and his girlfriend and the victim and his wife spent the evening of September 19, 2013, together at Smith’s home at 7316 Sunset Avenue on Panama City Beach. The victim and his wife eventually went back to their home at 7310 Sunset Avenue. Several hours later Smith appeared at the home, pounding on their front door and demanding to see his girlfriend.
The victim’s wife answered the door and told Smith his girlfriend was not in the home. Smith continued to insist she was there and the victim was preventing her from leaving. Finally, the victim’s wife went back inside to get her husband who was asleep in bed. The victim answered the door and, according to two witnesses, Smith punched him, knocking two teeth out. The victim fell and Smith began kicking him.
Deputies responded to the victim’s home and then to Smith’s home nearby where they found Smith and his girlfriend getting into his car to leave. BCSO deputies detained Smith until investigators with the BCSO Criminal Investigations Division arrived.
After interviewing Smith, investigators arrested Smith, DOB 6/18/82, and charged him with Aggravated Battery.
