On Tuesday February 11, 2014, the Jackson County Drug Task Force conducted an investigation based on information received of potential drug activity at the address of 3070 Carter Mills Road, Apartment B3 at the Marianna Garden Apartments. In response to that information investigators with Marianna Police Department and Jackson County Drug Task Force traveled to the apartment to investigate the allegations.
Contact was made at the residence with the lessee of the apartment Jessica Cheata, her fiancée Jaymison Marquez Blount, Blount’s father James Blount Jr. and two other individuals identified as Clifford Johnson Jr., and Brian Christopher Shack. During the course of the investigation a search of the residence was conducted. During the search a quantity of marijuana was located. The marijuana was individually packaged for distribution. Also found was approximately 11.5 grams of cocaine that was individually packaged for distribution along with scales and plastic sandwich bags were also located in the residence. The items found in the residence are commonly associated with the sale and distribution of narcotics. Also found in the residence was an illegal sawed off shotgun along with a book bag that contained ammunition for the firearm.
During the investigation it was determined that Jaymison Blount was responsible for the sawed off shotgun, scales, bags, cocaine and a portion of the marijuana. It was also determined that the drugs in Blount’s possession were intended for sale.A portion of the marijuana was also determined to belong to Clifford Johnson and he too possessed the marijuana for sale.
James Blount JR. was currently on active State Probation and was found to be in violation of his probation due to his association with the illegal narcotics trade going on at the apartment.
Brian Christopher Shack was found to be in violation of a trespass warning that had been issued to him by Marianna Police Department.
Jaymison Marquez Blount was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Sale, Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Sale and Possession of a Short Barrel Shotgun.
Clifford Johnson Jr. was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Sale.
James Blount Jr. was placed under arrest for violation of State Probation.
Brian Christopher Shack was placed under arrest for Trespass after Warning.
It was determined that Jessica Cheata was not directly involved with sale of the narcotics located in her residence.
All individuals arrested were transported to and lodged in the Jackson County Jail to await First Appearance on their respected charges.
The Jackson County Drug Task Force is a combined effort of the Marianna Police Department, Graceville Police Department, Cottondale Police Department, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
