August 21, 2014 The Panama City Police Department announces the conviction and sentencing of 48-year-old Keneith F. Williams, also known as Kenneth F. Williams and “Mobile.” In 2012, the Panama City Police Department Special Operations Unit in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Panama City Resident Office, conducted a joint investigation into the drug related activities of Williams. As part of this investigation, a search warrant was executed on Williams’s Panama City residence, which resulted in the seizure of crack cocaine, marijuana, $4,000.00 cash and two vehicles.
In August 2013, a Federal Grand Jury indicted Williams on two counts of distribution of a controlled substance and one count of possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance, stemming from the seizure. Williams was arrested on or about August 27, 2013, on the Indictment. Beginning on February 12, 2014, Williams appeared in United States District Court before the Honorable U.S. District Court Judge Richard Smoak for a two-day trial. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tiffany Eggers and at the conclusion of the trial, Williams was found guilty on all charges in the Indictment. On August 20, 2014,
Williams was sentenced to 294 months in the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
The Panama City Police Department has had a long-standing, cooperative relationship with the Drug Enforcement Administration and would like to thank them for the many hours of work this case entailed. This cooperative effort has helped to take dangerous drugs off the streets of Panama City.
