SOUTHPORT DEATHS – Preliminary findings
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office released today preliminary findings in the deaths of John Steve Bowen, age 46, and Donna Maria Merendino, age 44 on September 26, 2014.
Autopsies were completed today. Preliminary findings indicate that Merendino was shot twice by Bowen with a short barrel shotgun who then turned the gun on himself. Toxicology results are still pending.
A forensic analysis by the BCSO Crime Scene Unit of the scene corroborates this preliminary finding.
