Motorcycle vs. Motor Vehicle Traffic Crash

Location: U.S. Highway 98 at Nautilus Street

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FLORIDA – Officers with the Panama City Beach Police Department are currently investigating a traffic crash which occurred in the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and Nautilus Street at about 3:30 p.m. Patrol Officers responded to the report of a crash involving a 2002 Toyota Camry operated by 29 year-old Kelly Osborne, a 2004 white Ford Escape, operated by 37 year-old Nicole C. McClard, and a 2006 maroon Harley Davidson Road King motorcycle, operated by 52 year-old Jay E. Mabry, all from Panama City Beach. The three vehicles were traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 98 approaching the intersection of Nautilus Street. Ms. Osborne stopped for the light as it turned yellow. Ms. McClard was behind Ms. Osborne and Mr. Mabry was behind Ms. McClard. As of this writing, the exact cause of the collision is still under investigation. What is known is that Mr. Mabry’s motorcycle struck the passenger side of Ms. McClard’s vehicle which caused Mr. Mabry and his female passenger to be ejected before the motorcycle collided with the South-East traffic pole. Both Mr. Mabry and his passenger were transported to Bay Medical Sacred Heart. The identity of the passenger is being withheld at this time. Ms. Osborne’s vehicle obtained damage to the right front fender. Mr. Mabry is currently listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit, and his passenger is listed as stable. Neither Ms. McClard nor Ms. Osborne suffered any injuries as a result of this crash.
