October 14, 2014 The Panama City Police Department continues to investigate a shooting that occurred on October 14, 2014, at approximately 1:15 P.M. in the 200 block of Kraft Avenue. The victim, 17 year old, Curtis Hunt, was taken to an area hospital for his wound where he died earlier this evening. The investigation reveals this was a targeted attack of Hunt and not a random act of violence. Information gathered at the scene indicates that the suspects fled the area in a blue, late model, Grand Marquis. Officers located the vehicle near the corner of 15th Street and Balboa Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted in the Royal Arms Apartment complex where three of the suspects fled the area on foot and one remained in the vehicle. Three of these suspects were apprehended and the fourth is still at large. The Panama City Police Department is asking for assistance from the public in identifying the fourth suspect and is offering a cash reward of up to $500.00 to the first person who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of the fourth individual. Video captured from a patrol vehicle shows the suspect, who is on the right, returning to the vehicle before fleeing the area. The suspect is a black male, approximately 15 to 16 years old. He is approximately 5’08” tall. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, white shorts with black belt, white socks and white and black tennis shoes. Officers arrived on scene shortly after 1 P.M. and found one person shot. The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Information gathered at the scene led to a traffic stop at the Royal Arms Apartments of a vehicle thought to be involved in the incident. Several suspects from the vehicle and two firearms have been recovered, relating to this case. The suspects were transported to the Panama City Police Department for questioning. The victim is still being treated and identification will not be released until next-of-kin can be contacted. This investigation is in the very early stages and all resources, to include resources of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, are being utilized to ensure swift justice is brought to all involved.
